The Analysis of the Professional Leon

      The Meaning of Life—Hope

The Professional Leon which is directed by Luc Besson is an attractive and affecting movie. It is a story about a professional killer and a 14-year-old girl. In my opinion, this film reflects the influence of hope in people’s lives. Life is a magic thing. It is like a thick forest and when we walk through it, we need hope to lead us. Hope can change one’s mind. Hope can change one’s life.

The first reason is the change between the settings from the beginning to the end. The film began with the oppressive cityscapes: roads, streets, alleys and then the screen turned dark. They are the characteristics of Film Noir. Besides, the protagonist Leon appeared from a black shot which is a special close-up. In addition, the following shot are fighting in some rooms. The whole beginning leads to a mood of cold and oppression.

However, at the end of the film is a scene of orphanage. The sunshine illuminated the trees and the grass. The scene is bright and warm. Then the shot got far and far. This showed that life was going on and the sunshine brought us hope to live. The world turned peace again, and the mood turned soft and cozy. Therefore, the change of the beginning and the end showed the dark had gone and everyone got their hope.

In this film, there is a symbol of hope-Leon’s evergreen. It ran through the whole film. The protagonist Leon, at fist, was a typical killer who was skillful and cold. The evergreen for him is the hope of life. It meant Leon’s valuable memory-the girl he loved. Everyday he cleaned the leaves of the evergreen carefully. He thought the evergreen was quiet and happy, so he took care of it as his most valuable thing. Actually, he lived in his memory and what he must protect is the hope-evergreen. For Leon, there was no meaning of the reality until he met the girl –Mathilda.

When the girl implored Leon to open the door, he hesitated. Yes, of course. It was because everything would change since he opened the door. Actually, Leon was a simple, kind and attentive man who was not good at express himself. We can know that from watching old movie and ironing clothes. After accepting the girl, Leon chose the responsibility in his heart. His life changed because his hope changed. His living purpose was to protect the girl and revenge on Stan. Furthermore, his good-side was stimulated by the girl’s love. They were interdependent as a special relationship. I fact, Leon was not a killer any more since he met Mathilda. He was a real man.

Another hope is reflected by Mathilda’s attitude of life. Mathilda’s family was inharmonious. She couldn’t feel love in this family, so she became unyielding and mature at an early age. She hated her relatives except her little brother. If she didn’t met Leon, her life would be out of imagination. When Leon opened the door, a light shone on Mathilda. This light of life is a symbol of change. Since she lived with Leon, she felt care from Leon, and she fell in love with him. She wanted to be with him forever. The hope of her life is Leon. She took care of their“home”and took care of him. When Leon ordered her go, she was in agony. She knew that she wouldn’t see him again. She was afraid that the hope of life would disappear. At last, she planted the evergreen near the orphanage, and the evergreen became her hope. She got a new view of this world, and she would cherish the memory of Leon who saved her life and soul.

This story is a fairy tale of killer. The killer managed to protect his hope as the expanse of his life, whereas he died in comfort. Maybe, there is another dark world concealed near us. However, it is because the shine of hope has not illuminated it. And the meaning of life is the process of seeking hope.

      電影觀后感英語作文篇二:我是山姆

Sean Penn may be the most gifted actor of his generation. He has been showered with comparisons to Brando, Clift, Nicholson and others and yet he continues to repeat threats to “retire” from acting completely. Instead, Penn wants to direct focusing on quirky, original fare like this year’s Nicholson drama The Pledge.

Well, let’s hope that this threat remains a hollow one. Once more Penn shows what all the fuss is about in I Am Sam, a potentially maudlin courtroom drama that somehow bursts through as one of the better films of the year.

Penn is Sam Dawson, a handicapped man who has never mentally matured past the age of seven. Holding a job at a local Starbucks, he maintains a life of quietly detailed order that helps him get through the day. He and his circle of friends have orderly get-togethers such as Wednesday movie nights or Thursday morning breakfasts at I-Hop.

This all changes when Sam becomes a father. Faced with responsibilities even the most experienced adult has troubles with, his orderly and structured life is thrown into the hyperbolic chaos that a child can bring. But with the help of his reclusive next-door neighbor Annie (Diane Wiest) and an endless supply of love, Sam learns to be a supremely nurturing father to his little girl, named innocently after a favorite Beatles song.

Kids, however, don’t follow routine very well. It’s in their nature to grow and evolve thus being the case with Lucy (Dakota Fanning). Like any child, questions are the name of the game and sooner or later she’s going to ask the one question Sam doesn’t want to hear – “You’re not like other Daddies, are you Daddy?” With that question, it becomes clear to both parent and child that their relationship has begun to change in irrevocable ways.

More so than they anticipate, as the child welfare office deems Sam an unfit parent and takes Lucy away from him, devastating his emotional balance. Sam’s friends decide that what is needed to get Lucy back into her father’s loving arms is a lawyer. Using the most scientific method they can think of – namely looking for the biggest ad in the yellow pages – they go about finding him one.

Enter Rita Harrison (Michelle Pfeiffer), a big-time lawyer who only seems to care only about her own success and wants nothing to do with Sam’s case. But to look better in the eyes of her colleagues she reluctantly agrees to take charge of Sam’s appeal to regain custody of Lucy. Yet Rita’s own personal life is a mess. She has a child who can’t stand her, a marriage that is falling apart and her co-workers think she’s a selfish witch. Through helping Sam she might find redemption in her own life, something the high-strung Rita never imagined.

I Am Sam has movie of the week written all over it. It’s also a textbook case of Oscar baiting what with a high profile, well respected actor playing a mentally handicapped character in a highly sentimental melodrama.

Damned if the whole thing doesn’t work despite all of this. Penn may be playing just the type of character Oscar loves, but don’t hold that against him. This is a fiery, complex performance and one of the more brutally honest depictions of mental illness the screen has seen. Penn’s portrayal is free of the general tics and gestures that most actors employ when diving into such parts, and his style is so loose and natural it’s easy to forgive the film when it treads into more treacle-ridden territory.

The rest of the cast shines quite nicely, working off of Penn’s lead. Pfeiffer has one of her strongest roles in years as the driven Rita – even if one particular breakdown moment screams “Oscar clip!” in bright neon exclamation points – and little Fleming is astonishingly good as the wise-beyond-her-years Lucy. Jessie Nelson directs with a relatively steady hand and his use of Beatle’s classics is more inspired than you would first expect. While his and Kristine Johnson’s script does dip far too close to cheap sentiment at times, mostly it manages to maintain course, justly earning is its tears in the end.

      電影觀后感英語作文篇三:亂世佳人

“Gone With the Wind” is quite famous. The story happens during Civil War. Scarlet, the daughter of a farmer was beautiful and attractive. Before the war, her life was placid. But when the war broke out, her life changed totally. Her husband died because of disease, and she became a widow. However, she was different from other women. She couldn’t bear wearing dark clothes and staying at home all the time. Just at that time, Captain Butler came into her life. They were very similar, both treacherous and avaricious, so they soon became friends. Scarlet had to be feed the whole family, and this made her marble. Later on, Scarlet had her own factory, and was gradually disliked by many people because of her arrogance.

Captain Butler was very wealthy and charming as well. He loved Scarlet, and before long, they got married.

On the other hand, Scarlet had been loving a man called Ashley for a long time, but Ashley had a wife, Melanie, who was respected by everyone, except Scarlet. Even after she got married with Butler, she still wanted Ashley.

Some time later, Scarlet and Captain Butler had a daughter. This made Butler become a kind father. But their daughter died. From then on, Scarlet and Butler quarreled much oftener than before. Otherwise, when Scarlet met Ashley on his birthday at the factory, people saw them hugging, and this made Butler fly into a rage.

Melanie fell sick and she was about to die. Scarlet talked with her beside her bed, and she suddenly realized that Melanie was her only female friend, and she loved her very much. She also realized she didn’t really love Ashley. But everything was too late. When she came back home, Captain Butler was leaving. Her tears couldn’t do any help, and she could only watch him leave.

This story figured a lady who was fortitudinous. But the society made her play hard, and her personality distorted. She only cared for money, and she didn’t care about other people’s feeling. When she finally regretted, Butler’s patience had been deplenished.

In addition, Scarlet had a tag, “ Tomorrow is another day.” This showed that she was optimistic. When Butler left her, she also said, “Tomorrow is another day.” This sentence gave her courage, and made her feel much better. Maybe we should learn this point from her. No matter how difficult our life is, just face it optimistically, and tomorrow would be another day.
